Volunteers from an estate agency helped create a new garden at a Garforth school.
Thirteen from Emsleys' estate agency spent eight hours transforming land at Strawberry Fields Primary into an interactive reading garden as part of Business in the Community's "Give and Gain day."

As well as constructing the garden, Emsleys volunteers have been fundraising for months to buy plants, benches and gravel, including raffling a day's holiday and holding cosmetic and clothes sales.

The volunteers have been supporting pupils at Strawberry Fields with their reading since the summer term of 2008, as part of 'Right to Read' programme which supports students' literacy development.

Andrew Greenwood, partner at Emsleys, told Garforth Today: "We have had a fantastic time raising funds and building the reading garden. It has taken a lot of effort and hard work from the team but we are delighted to be involved in projects that benefit the local community and hope that the staff and pupils at Strawberry Fields are pleased with our efforts."

Emsleys has offices in Crossgates, Kippax, Garforth, Castleford, Rothwell, Sherburn in Elmet and Colton.
