Members of Strawberry Fields Primary's School Council decided to celebrate Anti Bullying Week by organising a balloon race.
The launch of the balloons came at the end of a week of events designed to raise the awareness of the issue of bullying. Children made a small donation in return for a blue balloon, all the funds raised from the race have been given to the Children in Need appeal.

As the balloons were released they blended with the icy winter sky and children reflected on the issues they had been thinking about during the Anti Bullying Week.

Sam Irish, chairperson of the school council, said: "We wanted to make the serious issue of bullying have a fun side to it and the balloon race seemed a great idea. I just hope if someone finds a balloon they return it to school so we can see how far our message travelled"

The progress of the balloon race can be followed through the school's website: www.strawberryfields.leeds.sch.uk
