Youngsters at St Mary's Youth Theatre in Garforth can now take centre stage in style after they were handed a £500 grant.
The theatre group can now buy new costumes in time for their production of Schools We Will Rock You, in November at the Carriageworks Theatre in Leeds city centre.

The donation is part of Yorkshire Bank's Staff Volunteer Programme, which provides cash to groups linked to its staff.

Diane Dutton, advice quality accessor, joined the bank 16 years ago and has been costume mistress for SMYT for years.

She said: "Groups such as ours are always looking to raise funds to support our activities and so we were delighted to receive this grant from Yorkshire Bank."

SMYT are now based, rehearse and perform at Green Lane School in Garforth.

Tickets for Schools We Will Rock You are now on sale at the Carriageworks.
