A man has been arrested following an attempted child abduction in Leeds.

An 11-year-old girl was approached by a man in "suspicious circumstances" on Friday (June 25) at about 8.15am.

It happened in a ginnel that runs between Rossefield Avenue, Rossefield Place and McLaren Fields in Bramley.

Detectives have now arrested a man on suspicion of attempted kidnap in relation to the incident.

He remains in custody and enquiries by officers from Leeds District Safeguarding Unit are ongoing.
