It was the end of an era when Great Preston Primary School building closed after more than 100 years.
In September, pupils at Great Preston Primary will all be housed on the same site for the first time since the village
junior and infants schools amalgamated in 2005 after the junior school premises were extended.

The infants' building about a quarter of a mile away on Preston Lane has been in existence for 111 years and its closure
was marked by a special event for former staff and pupils and local residents.

Displays of old books, registers and schoolwork were all on display and children also let off more than 200 balloons.
