The design brief was that it had to be in British colours, easy to pick out on television, distinctive and different to the clothing worn by other countries.
Six children's designs were picked out and signed by Jamie Staff, (2008 Gold Medallist in the Men's Team Sprint Event ) and the children were presented with an individual photograph of him with their work in a school assembly.
The Barry family are regular visitors to the Manchester Velodrome, where Carol and her son Lewis have achieved success in their various events, and Mark is part of the coaching staff.
