On behalf of all those service users who have appreciated Jean Whittaker's hard work and dedication over the last two years, Councillor Mark Dobson had the privilege of presenting her with a bouquet.

Councillor Dobson reiterated the important role volunteers like Jean play, by giving up their time for free to run luncheon clubs across the ward.

Councillor Mark Dobson (Lab, Garforth & Swillington) told Garforth Today: "Jean has given her time as a volunteer for two years. Without people like Jean who are prepared to offer their time for free luncheon clubs across the Garforth and Swillington would not be able to function.

"I was delighted to be able to present Jean with a bouquet and personally thank her for her efforts.

"I'd also like to extend a warm welcome to Ann Mathers of Garforth, who is taking over Jean's role."
