He has received the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award.

It was presented to him by Lion President Mark Dobson on the occasion of the clubs 36th annual charter dinner held at the Holiday Inn Garforth.

The award is given in recognition of the recipients commitment to humanitarian works.

Lion Robin is a retired Fire Officer who has been a member of the club for 22 years and was "delighted and surprised" to receive the accolade.

Club president, Mark Dobson, told Garforth Today: "Lion Robin has had a distinguished career in military service, the fire service and long standing service to his community as a Lion. He is an exceptional person and very worthy recipient of our top honour."
