Garforth and District Lions Club host pensioners Christmas party

Garforth and District Lions Club have held their annual party for local pensioners.

Colin Burgon MP also attend to award a bottle of House of Commons whiskey to both the oldest male and female guests.

The winners in each category were 97-year-old Irene Stephenson and Sidney Bennett, 90.

Lion President, Mark Dobson, told Garforth Today: "We were delighted to invited over 100 of our local senior residents to our annual party.

"I would like to thank the Lions, Compas and Garforth Community College for all their hard work in bringing this event together and to our MP Colin Burgon for his attendance and help on the day. I am sure all our older residents enjoyed the day."
