The amount raised from Santa's tour around the community organised by Garforth and District Lions has exceeded expectations.

Pete Wyatt, of Garforth and District Lions, said the generosity of local people had defied the credit crunch.
Mr Wyatt added: "It has been a very busy time for the members of Garforth Lions. They have collected cans at the local supermarkets to make hampers that were distributed to the elderly and the needy, held a xmas party in conjunction with COMPAS for the elderly and provided the Father Christmas at Strikes Garden Centre at Garforth Cliff.
"The members of Garforth Lions would like to thank everyone for their continuing support."
