Garforth Town's Monday night LivePubPokerLeague tournament is already a popular destination for many budding poker players and attracts a crowd that has grown to 25 players recently.

Unlike conventional Texas Hold'em, where players generally risk their own hard earned money, LivePubPokerLeague enables players to play for FREE by awarding points based on performance at the tournaments. These points go towards the Area Leaderboard to qualify for a two-monthly Area Final, which provides players with the opportunity to win great prizes from iPODs to national poker events to foreign holidays – and all for no cost to players whatsoever.

Garforth Town's general manager, George Williams told Garforth Today: "LivePubPokerLeague has been a roaring success since it began with Garforth Town a few months ago and I envisage that the turnout on Monday nights will only continue to grow, especially with this new longer term partnership that has developed. Poker is an ever-growing pastime and the way that LivePubPokerLeague is both set up and managed is perfect for pubs to embrace without having to amend their trading license. It is all agreed as legal by the Gambling Commission and is a good environment to introduce beginners to this enthralling game – with no risk whatsoever for players, it allows them to relax and enjoy the social atmosphere for all standards from total beginner to 'potential shark'!

LivePubPokerLeague Director of Poker, Mark Rowbottom, said, "We are delighted to be associated with Garforth Town, and extremely proud that they have selected LivePubPokerLeague to partner them. Garforth are known for their big name signings on the pitch - we didn't need an agent to advise us that signing on the dotted line was the right move for us off the pitch!

"We firmly believe that more success is coming the way of Garforth and we look forward to playing an active part in supporting their future – both our 'sports' are totally compatible – a friendly and social environment but yet extremely competitive when it comes down to winning!"
