Strawberry Fields pupils enjoy year of sporting success

Pupils from Strawberry Fields Primary School in Garforth went into the summer break celebrating a host of sporting success last year.

The athletics team landed the Leeds Schools Plate for the first time, while the rugby league side won the Brigshaw tag festival.

The girls' football team landed the St Bart's Cup, beating last year's winners St Nicholas 2-1 in the final.

The year six girls' rounders team beat Micklefield, Green Lane, Ninelands, East Garforth and Ledston to claim silverware.

The school finished first at the city's inter school sports day, year six topping their section and years five and three finishing second to seal the success.
