Rugby was the winner as Garforth Tigers U-13s edged out in thriller against Hunslet Parkside.
Hunslet Parkside U-13s 28 Garforth Tigers U-13s 20 This game was end-to-end action and entertainment and both sides should be applauded for their effort and skill.
In a hard and at times ferocious match Garforth came up just short although they opened the scoring within 20 seconds of the kick off, Kyran Slinn collecting the kick and running hard into the defence smashing through and running the length of the pitch.

Garforth then muscled up and tried hard to find a break through but for some handling mistakes and some dubious refereeing were unable to find a gap.
Instead it was Hunslet who again scored, Garforth finishing the half off on the back foot. Garforth could have laid down and given in but they again came forward led by Ben Sherrard and John gibson. The forwards pushing forward to within 10 ms of the Parkside line.
Fast hands and a short pass allowed Ben Sherrard to score under the posts converted by Joe Hardy. From the kick off Garforth ran hard and fast this time Stephen Howgate and Kyran Slinn leading the way pulling Parkside over to the left then spreading the ball right for Alex Hodby to drive over. All this hard work seemed to be undone when Parkside got a breakaway try.
The Tigers dug deep and again pressurised the Hunslet line. This time Matty Law and Joe Hardy adding their skill to creating space for Ben Sherrard to score . Converted by Joe Hardy. Parkside never gave in and again with great offloads caught us on the break.
The Tigers rolled up their sleeves and mounted another assault. Matty Law touching down only to be ruled held up. Hunslet tried again but some great defensive work from Kai and James stopped them. The game finished with Tigers on the attack. Ben Sherrard going close.
If effort resulted in points both sides would be top of the table.
