Five consecutive pre-seaon defeats haven't damped spitits as Garforth Town prepare to kick off the new season.
Despite the results, the team have performed well against some tough opposition.

Ossett Town from the UniBond Premier league then won 2-1 at the Genix Healthcare Stadium in a game that could have gone either way.

Monday saw the visit of League One club Hartlepool United who gave an impressive display in the first half with an outstanding opening goal from a 30 yard free kick.
Garforth dominated the second half and after rattling the crossbar, having three goalmouth scrambles cleared off the line and spurning a one on one chance, Hartlepool came away with a flattering 4-0 win due to some clinical finishing.
Last Saturday saw the final pre-season run out against Whitby Town at the Genix Healthcare Stadium and it looked to be heading for a draw until Karl Charlton struck for the visitors on 79 minutes after Garforth had spent the majority of the second half as the more likely team to break the deadlock.
The 1-0 defeat at the hands of a team from a higher division was not all bad news and Garforth showed some very promising signs for the season ahead.
This Saturday, August 15, sees the start of the new UniBond League season with Garforth playing host to Mossley, a team they beat twice last year.
