Garforth started the better with lots of early possession and pressure making Hunslet kick early in the tackle count to clear their lines, eventually Garforth made the breakthrough, the ball being passed from one touch line to the other giving great field position then allowing Jose Aisles to crash over.

Garforth continued to press home their advantage again, great passing from Ben Quirk and strong running from Steven Howgate got him across the line only for him to drop it at the last minute. Not deterred Garforth kept up the pressure Kyran Slinn and Matty Law linking up well down the left wing splitting the Hunslet defence and a fast play of the ball gave Josh the chance to score again.

Hunslet made some changes which changed their fortunes and they pulled the Garforth defense around leaving a hole out wide which they ran through.

They stepped up the pace and the Garforth defence worked overtime to keep them at bay especially Jordan Hirst and Robert Greenwood. But the pressure told and Hunslet scored again.

Half time came with the scores 10-8 to Hunslet again Garforth started brightly. Adam moving the ball around nicely but was met with a determined Hunslet defence.

A little against the run of play Hunslet broke free finally tackled just short of the Garforth line but a fast move out wide allowed them to score. Hunslet kicked on again but this time Garforth held firm.

Again strong forward play from Ernie and Alex laid the foundations from which Josh again stormed through to score under the posts converted by Joe Hardy. From the kick off the ball was collected by Tom Crossfil who ran 30 metres before being tackled but a fast play of the ball allowed Josh to cut through and score his fourth try.

Garforth now led 20-16 with the clock ticking down and some clever kicking from Hunslet the pressure was on. With a scrum 10 metres from the Garforth line Hunslet passed the ball along the line with one pass too many the ball was knocked on unseen by the ref.

The Garforth defence stopped and Hunslet scored. The game finished with Garforth pressing hard. A fair result much appreciated by an excited crowd.
