Garforth Rangers enjoyed a 3-1 win to lift the Junior Cup against Thorpe United.

As expected, at this level, the Junior cup was a bruising encounter, though it was played in a good spirit.

Early exchanges were pretty equal, but when Thorpe nudged in front Garforth had some questions they needed to answer.

A stronger second half saw Rangers get back on terms and though they couldn't get ahead they began to look the stronger side as the game wore on.

No more goals in a first period of extra time saw the prospect of penalties looming.

But two quality goals in the second period saved their fans' nerves and ensured the junior cup was added to their Deighton Shield success of two
years ago.
