Rangers began to dominate the game and with Ashley Battensby in goal organising the defence of Ryan Huggan, Liam Holdworth, Jack Stoker and Daniel O'Toole, the opposition were left with few clear cut chances to get back into it.

Scott Westerman and Daniel Alcock ran both wings stretching Kirkheaton and from a corner Holdsworth headed Rangers' second.

In the second half, Kirkheaton pushed forward, which left Connor Dent, Matthew Ellis, Matthew Stogdale and George Caslake to create some great chances, but Rangers, who had Tyler Cheetham coming off the bench to keep the defence tight, had done enough to lift the cup.
