Garforth Rangers U-14s were edged out by the odd goal in five in the final of the Deighton Shield.

Led by manager John Hinchliffe, Rangers U-14 side were looking to add to their 2005/06 season's Leigh Walker Cup win but against a strong Wetherby outfit it looked a tall order from the start.
Despite seeming the smaller side, Rangers players' efforts could not be
faulted and their battling qualities pushed their final opponents all the way, coming back from behind twice before conceding a third near the end which left too much to do and too little time in
which to do it.
Despite not winning the trophy, Rangers contributed fully to a pulsating contest and though they perhaps did not do enough to win they were a credit to their club, their manager and their many supporters.
