Tries from Steve Hall, Steve Hayward, Stu Daly and first team skipper Phil Watson along with four conversions from the boot of Andy Hayward were enough to see of Wetherby in a deserved 28-22 victory.

This was the first outing of the season for the Mighty Forth and coach Andy Daw took the opportunity to blood some new players and youth players, in total 25 players were used during the training game.

Coach Daw was pleased with the result but more importantly felt the squad had got a good first game under their belt.

The side still has plenty to work on before the season opener on September 13 at home to Burley.

But with two further pre-season games schedule the Garforth side are looking good to better their top 5 finish of last season in Yorkshire 4.
