Garforth badminton ace Andrew Ellis has certainly cut the mustard this season – most recently at the prestigious Toulouse Open.
The 21-year-old tasted success in the men's doubles event with Buckinghamshire-based partner Richard Eidestadt – despite having to wear borrowed kit after his luggage failed to arrive in south-west France.

The duo produced a scintillating display to triumph against two pairs ranked in the world top 40 as they continued their peerless form in
2008.

Ellis reached the semifinals in the Spanish and Portuguese Opens and made the last-eight of the Dutch Open – to add to his doubles triumphs
at last month's Sussex Elite event in Haywards Heath.

If that's not enough, over the past 12 months, Ellis has also lifted the Yorkshire Elite title and finished runner-up
in an elite event in Wimbledon.

He also helped Yorkshire retain their County Championship title.

It all bodes well for the Yorkshireman who is in fulltime training with Badminton England in preparation for the 2012 London Olympic Games.
