Kippax: Two injured in road accident

A road was closed at rush hour after a smash in Kippax.

A silver Ford Mustang and a silver Volvo were involved in a collision on Ridge Road, half way up Mary Panel Hill, at 7.30am on Thursday, Octobewr 22.

Firefighters from Garforth, Castleford and Pontefract attended the crash and cut free one person who was trapped.

Two people were taken taken to Pinderfields Hospital, but there injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Police closed the road at the junction with Longdike Lane and Barnsdale Road to clear the scene.

The road was reopened at 9.30am.
