M1 Wakefield horror smash UPDATED

Police are still appealing for witnesses to a minibus crash which left 12 men injured at the weekend.
As reported in the YEP, the minibus overturned on the grass verge on the slip road from the M1 southbound onto the M62 just before 2pm on Sunday, July 25.

Eleven passengers and the driver suffered injuries and where taken to Leeds General Infirmary and Pinderfields hospital by ambulance and three air ambulances.

The driver of the minibus, a 46-year-old man and a 32-year-old man were taken to Leeds General Infirmary where they are still receiving treatment.

A 37-year-old man and a 68-year-old were initially taken to LGI, but have since been transferred to St James hospital.

Three men aged 38-years-old, 41-years-old, and 35-years-old were taken to LGI and released after treatment.

Five men aged 56-years, 66-years, 29-years, 28-years and 34-years have been taken to Pinderfields hospital.

The 29-year-old has since been discharged following treatment.

All the men are from the Manchester area and none of the injuries suffered are thought to be life threatening.

One lane of the M1 southbound and the exit slip road onto the M62 was closed for several hours following the collision before being fully re-opened by 6.15pm.

Police told the YEP that following initial investigations it is thought that no other vehicles were involved.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have seen the mini bus prior to the collision.
