Here's your guide of events in Leeds this weekend - with things to do, exhibitions and free parking:
1. Free parking in Leeds city centre
This weekend is the penultimate one where council-owned car parks in Leeds city centre are free of charge. Maximum stay provisions do apply but it means that this weekend you can spend time with family or friends in our favourite city centre without having to worry about parking costs. Happy shopping!
2. Angelica
Weekend sessions at Angelica are back every weekend and you can enjoy a mix of tunes by one of the bar's resident DJs this afternoon or evening, from 1pm to 6pm and 8pm to midnight. The Sunday sessions follow from 2pm to 8pm on April 25. It's a party in Leeds city centre.
3. Chow Down
Chow Down's line up for today (April 24) includes Musical Metaphors, Comfy Bella and J Cub. Tomorrow (April 25), Stephanie Pullen and Hannah Marion and Andy Buchan will be performing. Those who fancy a bite to eat or some drinks with friends at the huge outdoor event space can enjoy a pizza from Cozy P's Wood Fried Pizza, or something from Good Boy Burgers and Easy Riders Kitchen over the weekend.
4. Leeds city centre treasure hunt
The Great Game Treasure Hunt is a unique outdoor treasure hunt, leading you around Leeds' landmarks with some history along the way. You are given a treasure map, compass and clues to find your way along the route. If you are successful you will reveal where to draw the X on your treasure map to show the location of your treasure - a great pub! At the pub you will receive a discount off your bill. Bookings can be made through Eventbrite throughout the week, with hunts available over the weekend at 10am on Saturday, April 24 and Sunday, April 25. (photo: Gary Longbottom)
5. Merrion Street
It's the second weekend of The Merrion Street ‘party’ - which is a huge new seven-bar outdoor seating area for eating and drinking in the city centre. The sheltered patio will allow 200 Leeds residents at one time to make the best of all that Merrion Street has to offer until hospitality can open indoors again, so get there fast this weekend before it's too late! The bars and restaurants involved are Manahatta, MOJO, Verve, Mean Eyed Cat, Roxy Ball Room, Yard & Coop, Zaap Thai and Liv Bar.
6. Nubian Noire at Leeds Kirkgate Market
Nubian Noire presents a cultural themed market exhibition, Hidden Figures today (April 24). It showcases the very best traders in contemporary artisans, with an educational backdrop and installation theme narrative. It will take you back in time to remember, celebrate and revive the lives and legacies of unforgotten heroes and legends throughout history, who contributed their business excellence and creative endeavors igniting social, economic and political changes woven throughout the tapestry of Great Britain and beyond.
