Jersey Reds 24 Yorkshire Carnegie 19: Frustration for Carnegie after second straight defeat
The home side dominated the early exchanges and early on and deserved their lead when Haining got the ball down, the conversion being missed.
Carnegie had been reduced to 14 men with Michael Cusack in the sin bin but they hit back when Ben West went over between the posts, Joe Ford adding the simple conversion.

Hide AdAfter missing a long-range penalty for the hosts, Callum Sheedy soon made amends closer in for an 8-7 lead.
Jersey then crossed for a second try when Jordan Davies edged over in the corner, ensuring the home side enjoyed a 13-7 lead at the break.
That lead was extended after 48 minutes when Sheedy kicked his second penalty.
But, following a catch and drive from a line out near the line, Cusack went over to get the visitors back in the game at 16-12.

Hide AdBut Carnegie were he visitors were their own worst enemy after that after conceding a penalty and then being marched back a further ten metres for dissent. That took Sheedy into kicking range and he made it 19-12.
A powerfully driven maul from the visitors eventually saw Dean Schofield eventually touch down, allowing Alex Davies to level the scores with 20 minutes to go.
Soon after, however, Cusack was sin-binned for a challenge in back play and Jersey made their extra man count as they moved the ball wide near the Carnegie line for full-back Jack Cuthbert to over, although Sheedy left a glimmer of hope for the visitors awith 10 minutes to go when he missed the conversion.
But despite a penalty kick to the corner, Carnegie knocked on near the line from a line-out and that was as close as they came.
