Six Yorkshire golfers still in contention for the 147th Open
Scott Campbell, of Hallowes, shot six birdies on his way to a five-under par 67 to finish second at the regional qualifier at Alwoodley in Leeds.
Liam O’Neill (Leeds Golf Centre) tied for fourth on three-under, largely thanks to hitting six birdies.

Hide AdLindrick’s Luke Jackson hit two eagles to finish on three-under while amateur Ben Hutchinson (Howley Hall) hit four birdies on his way to shooting par.
Two-time Walker Cup player Stiggy Hodgson set a new course record at Alwoodley as he shot seven-under to win by two strokes.
Elswhere, another amateur, Benjamin Firth of Leeds Golf Centre, finished tied for first at Fairhaven in Lancashire.
James Walker (The Oaks, York) took the last spot at Kedleston Park.
All six will now progress to the final qualifier on Tuesday, July 3.
The 147th Open begins at Carnoustie on Thursday, July 19.
