Back in 2014, a late David Nugent strike was enough to hand the Foxes all three points at Elland Road, but the general lull that surrounded the hosts around that time now feels like a distant memory.
Marcelo Bielsa has come in and turned things around massively in Yorkshire, and a win on Monday evening could see the Whites climb as high as third in the Premier League table.
For City, there was the small matter of overcoming 5000/1 odds to wrap up the title back in 2016, and both clubs have done immensely well to achieve the things they have in the manner that they have in the years since that Championship clash two years prior.
Here’s what became of the team that turned out for Leeds that day:
1. Paddy Kenny
Kenny would leave Elland Road in the summer of 2014, and would go on to have something of a nomadic spell in the latter stages of his career. The Republic of Ireland international was on the books at seven different clubs at one time or another, including non-league Maltby Main, but made just a handful of first team appearances before hanging up his gloves for good two years ago. 2. Tom Lees
Another who left Elland Road at the end of the 2013/14 campaign, the defender has been at Sheffield Wednesday ever since. This season has been a mixed bag for the 29-year-old, however. Stripped of the captaincy over the summer by Owls boss Garry Monk, he has still managed to hold down a regular first team role, and has made five appearances in the Championship so far this term. 3. Jason Pearce
Pearce currently plies his trade under former Elland Road midfielder Lee Bowyer at Charlton Athletic, and has made 120 appearances for the Addicks since signing from Wigan Athletic in 2016. Now 32, the club captain has been sidelined with a knee injury since late August, but is sure to be a key player at The Valley upon his return to fitness. 4. Rodolph Austin
Aside from a three-year spell in Yorkshire between 2012 and 2015, Austin has spent the vast majority of his career in Scandinavia. Moving to Norway from his native Jamaica in 2009, he played 99 times for SK Brann before arriving at Elland Road. The 88-cap international would go on to make 112 appearances for the Whites, and as of this season, is still turning out for Esbjerg fB in the Danish second tier. 5. Sam Byram
In truth, injuries have probably prevented Byram from ever becoming the player that he promised to be. A product of the Thorp Arch youth system, it looked as if he had finally gotten his big break after sealing a move to West Ham in 2016. Fast forward to the present day, however, and he's back in the Championship with Norwich City, still trying to recover from a recurrent hamstring complaint that has sidelined him for the best part of a year. 6. Stephen Warnock
Warnock's done alright for himself since he left Leeds in 2015. After rounding out his career with a number of short spells dotted around the Football League, the former full-back hung up his boots in 2018 and has since made the transition into punditry. Now a mainstay of Sky Sports' rotating cast of characters, he is establishing himself as a trusted voice on the professional game. (Photo by Jan Kruger/Getty Images) Photo: Jan Kruger
