The Whites head coach was unable to say if the England international would definitely feature against the Gunners, having picked up a knock in Leeds' last outing. But Pablo Hernandez will not be fit in time for the weekend's fixture.
"There's no definite position at the moment on whether [Phillips] will be able to play or not," said the Argentine.

"[Hernandez'] is not an injury that will extend itself for a long time like I said, but I'm always prudent when trying to give a time line. I make an estimated reference, I don't think it's going to last for long. It will be monitored on a daily basis."
Phillips hobbled off towards the end of his 200th Leeds United appearance on Monday having hurt himself in a challenge.
The defensive midfielder has shone in the Premier League this season and is a difficult player for Bielsa to replace. Pascal Struijk, who has settled in nicely at centre-half alongside Liam Cooper of late, has previously been used to fill the void left by Phillips' unavailability, without fully getting to grips with the role.

The Whites' long-term injury absentees are summer signing Robin Koch and midfielder Adam Forshaw, while Spanish international defender Diego Llorente remains out with the latest in a series of niggling injuries since his arrival from Real Sociedad. His fellow Spanish national team member Rodrigo is also currently sidelined with a groin problem.
"With regards to Koch we're verifying when he can return week to week and in the case of Llorente it's more of a day to day thing," said Bielsa.
"The daily evaluations of their injuries will start to tell us when they can return."
