Members of Leeds' Kurdish community take on mammoth litter pick over Christmas
Members of the city's Kurdish community spent Saturday carrying out the huge clean-up around Hunslet, Beeston and the city centre.
Among the 16 rubbish bags filled with litter were hundreds of drinks cans, crisp packets, takeaway coffee cups and even syringes which were picked up in parks and on the side of roads.

Rebwar Sharazure, one of the volunteers, said the group carry out regular litter picks but hoped they can do more in 2020.
He said: "This was the last litter pick of 2019. We cleaned Hunslet Moor Park and Dewsbury Road side to the city centre.
"We hope we can do more in 2020 for a better, cleaner environment.
"Communities in Leeds need to come together and work together to make it a better city and great place for all."
