New cycle and walking routes in Leeds are a step in the right direction - the YEP says
Work has started on a segregated cycling and walking route on Claypit Lane as part of a £6.9m package of new infrastructure in Leeds.
The new section will also provide people with a safer crossing over the Inner Ring Road.

Hide AdAnd it includes an overdue new, continuous route for people walking into the northern part of the city centre.
Work is also taking part in the south of the city to create a new 3km segregated cycling route between Elland Road Park and Ride and the city centre.
It is all part of the latest bid to improve active travel and get more people on foot or using their bicycles.
The Yorkshire Evening Post has been a strong advocate for looking at how we rethink travel in the city centre after launching our Unlock the Gridlock campaign earlier this year.
It’s a shame that the work has only now been brought forward in the face of a global pandemic - but it’s certainly a step in the right direction.
