Leeds lollipop lady named kindest in the country
Linda Robertson, from Morley Newlands Academy, received the accolade for being the lollipop lady with “the biggest heart – generous, kind, caring and always on the crossing with a smile”. Linda, who has worked as a lollipop lady for nine years, said: “This is an amazing achievement. I feel really proud and touched by the recognition. It is very rewarding for me to be recognised by the school and the community. Thank you all so much.”
Headteacher Simon McCarthy said: “We feel really proud that Linda has won the Kindest Lollipopper award.
“Linda plays a significant role at the academy, and has one of the hardest jobs.” The winners were judged by insurance firm Churchill as part of today’s National Lollipopper Day.
