Leeds Beckett students back #WhiteRibbonLeeds campaign to end domestic violence
Dozens had their pictures taken yesterday alongside a pledge that they will not commit, condone or remain silent about domestic violence against women.
The event, led by the university’s police liaison officer, tied in with a council campaign to encourage at least 1,000 men to sign up during the 16 Days of Action against domestic violence taking place internationally.

Hide AdPC Mark Fox said: “Leeds Beckett and the student union here are really on board.
“It’s been well supported. People stopped and listened, and there were a lot of minority groups asking about White Ribbon. People were shocked by some of the figures.”
He said the event held at the university’s Rose Bowl site had helped to raise wider awareness of the issue.
