Police close busy Leeds road after fight between youths as handgun spotted by witness

Police were called to Cottingley Drive following reports of an altercation between a group of youths shortly after 8pm on Wednesday night (May 12).
One youth was reported to have been seen with what appeared to be a handgun, police said in a statement.

Hide AdA scene is currently in place in Cottingley Drive while enquiries continue to establish the circumstances, police said.
First West Yorkshire warned of diversions in place in the area.
In a tweet, the bus company said: "Part of Cottingley Drive is closed by police.
"To White Rose: Stay on Elland Rd, Ring Rd, Cottingley Dr, normal route.

UPDATE:
A 16-year-old teenager has been arrested this morning on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence in relation to the incident, police confirmed.
