'Avoid the area': Boar Lane set to be shut for 5 HOURS as First Bus release statement after woman hit by bus in Leeds city centre

Emergency services rushed to the scene in Leeds shortly after 4pm to the crash at the junction of Boar Lane and New Station Street.
A police cordon was put in place while the woman was treated for leg injuries.

Hide AdBoar Lane was closed and many buses diverted due to the incident.
West Yorkshire Police announced the road was due to be closed for 4-5 hours and warned the public to avoid the area.
First Bus have now released a statement.
Released in a tweet, the statement said: "We can confirm that one of our vehicles on service 28 to Adel was involved in a collision with a pedestrian at the junction of Boar Lane and New Station Street this afternoon.
"First West Yorkshire staff attended the scene and provided assistance to emergency services.

Hide Ad"Our thoughts are with the injured pedestrian and their family, and we are also supporting our bus driver, who was understandably shaken by the incident.
"As a result of this incident bus services are delayed, and we would like to apologise to customers for any inconvenience caused."
A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: "We were called at 4.02pm to reports a bus had been in a collision with a woman.
"She suffered leg injuries.
"Police and ambulance services are treating the woman at the scene."
