James Grant, 42, now of Granville Road, Blackpool, was jailed for 36 months, put on the sex offender register, and given a sexual harm prevention order banning him from unsupervised contact with any child under the age of 16. Grant was found guilty after a trial of four sexual assaults on children under the age of 13, one count of supplying cannabis and one of dealing in cannabis. He admitted an offence of possessing an offensive weapon in a private place after a sword was found at his home. Ardit Kuta, 29, of Higson Avenue, Eccles, Greater Manchester and Ehuljano Guri, 27, of no fixed address, were jailed for 38 months and 30 months respectively. Kuta admitted production of cannabis, possessing criminal property, assault on an emergency worker and resisting a police officer, while Guri admitted production of cannabis, ABH and resisting a police officer. Ahmed Sablu, 24, who is from Bangladesh and was in the UK on a student Visa which has now expired, was jailed for 12 months and given a 10-year sexual harm prevention order, as well as being put on the sex offender register for the same period. He is likely to be deported when released from prison. Sablu admitted attempting to meet a child following grooming. A 34-year-old who cannot be named to protect the identity of a victim was jailed for 30 months after he was found guilty of child cruelty after a seven-day trial. The drug-taking stepdad would join a two-year-old boy's mother in striking the child for not eating his dinner or tidying up his toys.
