In Tier 3, pubs and restaurants will be forced to remain closed and only be able to offer takeaways and delivery.
Non-essential shops, hair salons and gyms will be allowed to reopen but household mixing will still be banned.
Notwithstanding, Boris Johnson has announced details of a Christmas plan which will allow three households to mix for a five-day period over Christmas.
